Abstract

The Old Russian church organization which has arisen at the end of the X-th century represented a difficult and diverse organism. The highest church hierarches in the person of the metropolitan and the episcopate were key figures of this difficult institute. The complex of the initial rights of Russian hierarchy arose gradually and had essential restrictions in comparison with Byzantium. In article attempt to formulate a problem of limits of the initial power of Old Russian bishops on an example of their liturgical rights and duties is undertaken.
