Abstract

The article considers the evidence of foreign travelers about people clothing in Moscow Russia of XVI-XVII centuries, types of men's and women's clothing and order of their using. Comparison of data of various authors and then com-pared with the archaeological and ethnographic sources produced. It has been observed that there are differences in the terms of the Russian clothing in differ-ent authors. At the same time, evidence of foreign authors on the nature of Rus-sian clothing and methods of their wearing are quite reliable
