Abstract

The article is devoted to Russian diplomatic circles activity on the question of exchange of turncoats between Russia and Sweden in the first half of the 17-th century. This topic is considered in connection with the history of Russian-Swedish relations in this century. Author shows the peculiarities and conflicting character of relations between two countries and came to the conclusion that in spite of the superficial assurance in «love and friendship», Swedish officials did their best to interfere with Russian internal policy and forced their own ideas upon articles of the pacts
