Abstract

The paper is devoted to most debatable questions of a history of the Moscow revolt of 1682 that began as the streltsy’s uprising and was continued by the petition movement in de-fense of the «Old Belief». The author analyzes socio-cultural (mental and structural) factors of this revolt and corrects the chronology of the petition movement.
