Abstract

This article is devoted to studying of Russian peasantry culture of death in a historical and anthropological context. Despite of serious mental motions in the peasant environment, the theme of death (with beyond the grave requital) still remained one of the leading compo-nents of religious outlook determining motives and stereotypes of Russian orthodox peas-antry behaviour. The post-reform tendency of replacement of traditionalism from conscious-ness and a life of the country population, has slightly enough touched system of values and the ritually-ceremonial complex, anyhow connected with death.
