Abstract

The antagonism of members of the “obnovlenchestvo” movement and its opponents in Tver diocese is regarded in the article. Absence of the support from ordinary clergy and lay people didn’t permit members of the “obnovlenchestvo” movement to conserve their positions. The change of the Soviet church policy in April-June 1923 was the most impotent factor of their unsuccess.
