Abstract

The paper deals with two important concepts of late medieval demonology – superstitio (superstition) and maleficium (harmful magic). These two terms had an essential role in the conception of the most prominent book in the field – Malleus Maleficarum or The Hammer of Witches. It’s authors argued that basement of Heresy of Witches was a perversion of Church rites
