Abstract

The article is an analysis of the unexplored problem of women’s everyday in the Russian noble culture at the XVIIIth – the Middle of the XIXth century in the context of new directions of the Russian historiography – of the history of everyday life, the history of women and gender. Using ego-documents, such as memoirs, diaries, letters, the author specifies the importance of the historical and ethnological study of Russian noblewomen’s daily life in the light of an anthropologically informed and gender-sensitive social history
