Abstract

Based on the materials of Russian popular satirical magazines «Satiricon» and «Joker» the article analyzes the image making mechanisms of the «Enemy from the East» in case of the Iranian constitutional revolution of 1905–1911. The author concentrates on the specific rhetorics of hate, created by Russian satirical journalists in the process of appreciation of modernization of Kadzhar state in the epoch of constitutional reforms, civil war and intervention
