The article presents the events that preceded the opening of the Tver Women's Diocesan School (TEZH) in the provincial city of Tver and its development from 1895 to 1918. Based on a large number of documents, including materials from the diocesan congresses of the Tver clergy, the church press, contemporary accounts, and archival data, the article explores the specifics of the educational process, financial and economic activities, living conditions, and the attitude of the diocesan clergy towards the school. The conducted research shows that the issues of education for girls from the clergy, despite the obvious demand from the families of clergymen, were not always supported in a timely manner. On the one hand, the constant monitoring of TEJU by its founders demonstrated openness in discussing the pressing issues of its activities, but on the other hand, it limited any initiatives that required financial investments. However, the graduates were in demand in solving the problems of public education.
