Abstract

This article analyzes biographies and provides a collective portrait of the participants in the All-Russian Local Council of 1917–1918, who represented the Army and Fleet of Russia. The procedure for their election to the Council is examined, information about their fates and legacy is provided. Their participation in the Council's work is analyzed. The study allowed the author to identify the specific characteristics of the Army representatives in comparison with other groups of delegates who made up the Council. The military participants in the Council did not represent a narrow corporate group, but rather a cross-section of society. They were very different, there was a significant element of chance in their election and appearance at the Council, and the fates of most of them were distinguished by the tragedy characteristic of Russian history in the 20th century.
