The article is devoted to the unknown pages of the history of the formation and development of the Tver Mariinsky Women's Gymnasium in the second half of the 19th century and the early 20th century, mainly during the leadership of the first headmistress of the gymnasium, Konstantsiya Fyodorovna Grosswald. Based on the research of archival materials, the article analyzes the unknown facts of the opening of the first women's gymnasium in Tver, the participation of the provincial authorities and the Tver community in the educational and economic activities of the institution, provides statistics on the social composition and student body of the gymnasium over time, and shows the sources of financial support for the management and teaching staff. In conclusion, the article discusses K.F. Grosvald's personal and professional contributions to the development of secondary women's gymnasium education in Tver.
