Abstract

The article describes the objective basis of the evolution of gold as money commodity and the change in this regard, the legal status of gold. Examined the arguments "for" and "against" the finding of gold in the composition of the assets of the Central banks, as well as possible scenarios of the future international legal status of gold in the world.
