Abstract

The problems related to the identification and countering the theft of petroleum products and gas committed in pipeline transport by performing unauthorized "tie-ins" are considered; the reasons for the prevalence of this type of theft are analyzed; the features of the qualification of the described type of theft and problematic issues related to the application of criminal law are considered; some methods and techniques for detecting unauthorized "tie-ins" in oil pipelines are described, oil product pipelines, gas pipelines, as well as possible areas of improvement of this activity
