Abstract

The article defines the specific conditions for the formation and development of professional crime as a dangerous criminal phenomenon in pre-revolutionary Russia. A general description of the socio-economic, political and cultural conditions that influenced the transformation of the professional criminal world in the period under review, which led to the consolidation of the criminal environment and the strengthening of criminal ties between «professionals» in Russia by the end of the XIX – beginning of the XX century.
