Abstract

The object of the research is the social relations that develop in the sphere of citizens' participation in the protection of public order through association in specialized formations. The subject of the study is the norms of constitutional and administrative law governing the status of people’s squads. The aim is to analyze the trends in the formation and legal regulation of people's squads in the subjects of the Russian Federation. The set goal predetermined the following tasks: characteristics of the directions of use of people’s squads; the study of the legal regulation of people’s squads at the federal and regional levels; identification of the current state of the organization and functioning of people’s squads on specific examples. Formal legal and comparative analysis are used as the main research methods. The results of the study are justified by the conclusions on improving the effectiveness of the practical activities of voluntary people’s squads.
