Abstract

The article focuses on the social and legal aspects of upbringing children by mother s suffering from mental disorders. The authors explore available organizational possibilities to assist the proper upbringing in the family and ensuring the interests of the child.The need to take into account the specifics of providing psychiatric care in terms of ensuring medical confidentiality, socialization of the child and the formation of his personality is noted. Based on the analysis of available empirical data, a conclusion was made about the possibility of exercising parental rights by women suffering from mental disorders. The use of general scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, deduction, induction, etc.) also made it possible to identify and demonstrate the relationship and interdependence of the civil and family capacity of women suffering from mental disorders.
