The relevance of the problem under study is due to the need to improve the methodology of teaching legal disciplines to journalism students and the importance of further development of the optimal combination of various pedagogical practices and methods in this process. A special role here is played by an interdisciplinary approach that allows combining the knowledge gained by students in the course of studying "Jurisprudence" and the course "Legal Foundations of Journalism (including international humanitarian law and the media)". The purpose of the article: to identify the most effective combination of practices and methods of teaching legal disciplines to journalism students as non-core. The leading method of studying this problem is the analysis of the methods and forms of teaching legal disciplines to journalism students at Tver State University. The article analyzes the possibilities of using various teaching technologies in teaching legal disciplines to students majoring in "Periodicals and Multimedia Journalism"; identifies key problematic issues arising when future journalists study the discipline "Legal Foundations of Journalism"; develops recommendations for improving the legal training of students of this specialty. The author of the article believes that for more effective acquisition of legal knowledge by journalism students, a differentiated approach is needed, which involves different presentation of material to students both within the framework of the discipline "Jurisprudence" and within the framework of the discipline "Legal Foundations of Journalism (including international humanitarian law and the media)". It is important to return the discipline "Jurisprudence" to the main educational program "Periodicals and Multimedia Journalism" of Tver State University, which will allow senior students to more deeply understand the specialized material and participate more actively in the learning process.
