Transformation of the concept of "child's interests": legal and psychological aspects

Abstract

The article discusses the concept of "the best interests of the child" – provides an analysis of various approaches to understanding the concept of "the interests of the child" in domestic and foreign practice from the moment of its appearance to the present. The emphasis is placed on the fact that the legal definition of the "interests of the child" should be expanded and rethought from the standpoint of psychological science. The issue is raised of the need for legislative reform aimed at specifying the content of the concept of "the interests of the child", developing practical criteria for its definition and creating mechanisms to ensure that the interests of the child are taken into account when making all decisions concerning his life and future.
