Abstract

The object of the research is family relations that arise and currently exist in the Russian Federation. The subject of the research are the norms of family law, as well as the scientific doctrine on family and family relations, both legal and other branches of Russian science. The goal is to determine the situation of the modern Russian family, its specifics and to eliminate gaps in Russian family legislation regarding the legal status of the family, its forms, types and structure. Specific objectives are: studying issues related to the legal status of the family; identifying and analyzing the characteristics of the modern family and its situation; justifying amendments to legal norms. Some of the main research methods are the methods of comprehensive research and systems analysis, which made it possible to identify the features of the current situation of the family and the challenges facing it and family legislation of the Russian Federation. The results of the research can be summarized in the following main conclusions. It is necessary to give the family legal life and consolidate the legal status of the family. Legal phenomena accompanying modern families should be subject to family law regulation and should not be ignored. Existing and already widespread forms of family and marriage in the Russian Federation should not be ignored by Russian legislation.
