Abstract

The object of this study is family relations, the need for improvement of which is determined by the enshrining of value foundations in their content. The purpose of the study is to assess family legislation for its compliance with established family values. Formal legal methods, analysis, and synthesis were used. As a result, the author concluded that family legislation needs to be enriched with fundamentally significant categories ("family," "family values") in order to ensure the regulation of family relations taking into account their moral and ethical foundations and their compliance with traditional family values. It was revealed that family legislation requires adjustment and reasonable "adaptation" to the new conditions of civil circulation, which will ensure the desired balance of public and private interests in the family sphere, preserve the autonomy of family relations, and ensure the protection of the rights of their subjects.
