This article examines the family law nature of the right to information about one's origins as a legally enforceable opportunity to obtain information about one's parents, other ancestors, family history, ethnic origin, and the biographical details of relatives. It concludes that information about one's origins is an intangible asset, and the right to obtain it is a personal non-property family right subject to protection, including in proceedings to establish facts of legal significance.
