Abstract

The article deals with the application of the norms of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provide for liability for the public dissemination of knowingly false information about circumstances that pose a threat to the life and safety of citizens, analyzes the validity of the extension of Article 2071 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation to a wide range of people, draws conclusions about the possible subjects of this corpus delicti, the circumstances to be proven, considers possible restrictions on freedom of expression, related, among other things, to the COVID-19 pandemic.
