Abstract

The article opens a series of essays on the historiography of P.P. Maksimovich Tver women's teacher's school, the predecessor of Tver State University, which laid the foundations of pedagogical education in Tver region. The article deals with the general characteristics of historiography that was formed in 1870-1991.
