Abstract

Introduction: the article analyzes the conclusions of the Commission of the group of States (GRECO) on the prevention of corruption in the judicial system, as well as the "Bangalore principles of judicial conduct". Objective: to Find out the possibilities of determining objective criteria to be followed in applying the requirements of honesty in the selection, appointment and promotion of judges. Methods: systematic, historical, comparative legal and dialectical logic. Results: the necessity of declaring the principle of honesty and integrity in the legal acts of the Russian Federation is Substantiated. Conclusions: more careful selection of highly qualified candidates whose honesty means: 1) compliance with the truth of the data reported by the applicant about himself, his relatives and his previous activities and 2) that in his future work as a judge he will be able to resist external pressure and avoid conflict of interest.
