Abstract

The aim of the article is philosophical understanding of patronage as a sociocultural phenomenon and identification of its role in the formation and development of civil society. The study used a complex of methods, including historical and comparative analysis, as well as philosophical reflection based on the theories of P. Bourdieu and J. Habermas, which allowed the phenomenon of patronage to be examined in a broad sociocultural context. Special attention was paid to the analysis of modern practices of supporting culture and the arts. The results of the research confirm that the role of philanthropy is not limited to material support. It acts as a catalyst for social change, creating a favorable environment for the development of innovation, the preservation of cultural heritage, and the formation of spiritual and moral values. The study identifies current trends and prospects for the development of philanthropy in Russia, as well as systemic challenges such as the commercialization and lack of legal instruments regulating the activities of philanthropists. The results of the analysis help to rethink the role of philanthropy from the perspective of social philosophy, which creates a basis for developing new models of interaction between different sectors of society in solving current problems. The philosophical interpretation allows us to view philanthropy as a complex socio-cultural phenomenon with deep historical roots that significantly influences public consciousness. The practical value of the work lies in the development of specific recommendations for the development of philanthropy: Justifying the need for tax incentives, creating transparent mechanisms for cooperation, and promoting public-private partnerships for the sustainable development of civil society. The theoretical significance of the research lies in the systematization of philosophical and sociocultural approaches to understanding the phenomenon of philanthropy in the context of the formation of civil society. The study introduces new material that analyzes current trends in philanthropy in Russia, such as crowdfunding, blockchain projects (Symphony of Life), and technological philanthropy.
