Abstract

The article substantiates the idea of ignorance as a strategic resource that can have a significant impact on the development of socio-political institutions, economic strategies and cultural processes. This approach implies rethinking traditional ideas about knowledge as the main value and source of power, as well as identifying the potential of ignorance as a tool for strategic manipulation, forming alternative development scenarios and creating conditions for innovative thinking. The research is based on the hypothesis that ignorance can be not only the result of the limited information environment or the presence of cognitive barriers, but also a conscious tool used to achieve strategic goals. Is it possible to imagine a world where not knowing something is not a weakness at all, but a strategy? Modern reality is pushing us towards this understanding. In an era when information is pouring in and its volumes are snowballing, the ability to manage ignorance is becoming a valuable skill for both a politician, a scientist, and a businessman. Strategic ignorance is not accidental ignorance. This is a conscious choice: to keep silent, ignore, or even act out «ignorance» where everyone could in principle know. For what purpose? To gain additional leverage. In the context of global crises, social upheavals and environmental disasters, absolute knowledge becomes an illusion, and uncertainty management is a key skill for survival and development. In this sense, the strategy of ignorance is not the rejection of knowledge, but the ability to manage the boundaries of knowledge, use it as a tool to create new scenarios and avoid predictability from their opponents or circumstances.
