The problem of the crisis of civilization and the spiritual foundations of culture in the works of G.P. Fedotov
Abstract
In recent years, the Russian Federation has faced unprecedented foreign policy pressure, which manifests itself both in encroachments on the territorial integrity of the country and in attacks on the sphere of spiritual culture and national identity. In accordance with these challenges, the country is actively including materials in educational programs designed to educate the younger generation about their own history and respect for traditional spiritual values for the Russian state. Understanding the legacy of Russian philosophers contains a huge potential for fostering a whole and responsible personality, which must certainly be taken into account when forming the socio-humanitarian core of higher education. The article examines the philosophical arguments of Georgy Petrovich Fedotov on issues related to culture, civilization, national history and national identity. In the course of the research, historical, philosophical and comparative methods were used. The authors conclude that, according to Fedotov's ideas, shifting priorities from the spiritual development of the individual to blind adherence to scientific and technological progress leads to cultural stagnation and catastrophic consequences, the way out of which is to restore traditional upbringing and education. The article highlights the continuing relevance of G.P. Fedotov's philosophical legacy for understanding the challenges of globalization and the prospects for Russia's spiritual rebirth.
