Abstract

Ivan Ilyin is very famous Russian thinker of XX-th century, who lived most of his life in exile in Germany and in Switzerland. Ilyin loved Russia and did not accept the revolution in 1917. The focus of the article is on the Ilyin’s works, written in period of 1939-1949. The main it’s events are reflected in philosopher’s publications of that time and are permeated with his personal perception of historical events and expectations. How did Ilyin feel about the Bolshevik regime and communist ideology? Why did he hate and criticize both left and right totalitarianism. How did Russian philosopher imagine the political future of Russia after liberation from Bolshevism? – this is what this article will be about.
