Vol. 64 No. 2 (2023): Herald of Tver State University. Series: Philosophy

Issue No. 2 (64) 2023 publishes articles by researchers dedicated to current problems of theoretical and scientific cognition, the history of philosophy, as well as the challenges of the developing information society.

The section "Man, Science, Culture" explores the constructivism conception of scientific cognition, the conventional construction of Isaac Newton's mechanics, the criteria for demarcation between real and false science, and the foundational problems of philosophy in the information society. The authors analyze cultural and anthropological principles of an artistic image, the entertainment potential of mythologized information scandals, the conflict between culture and economy in architectural heritage, as well as westernization, national mentality, and military discourse (articles by S.A. The section "Problems of Russian Philosophy" focuses on the analysis of dialectics and positivism in the philosophy of Russian peasant democrats, and studies T.N. Granovsky's foreign scientific cooperation (articles by N.O. Arhangelskaja, E.E. Mikhailova).

In the section "Philosophy Abroad: Past and Present," the authors turn to historical and philosophical heritage, examining the concept of world order in the doctrine of Marsilius of Padua, the transition to the New European understanding of history, the significance of analytical philosophy in legal understanding, Q. Skinner's intellectual history, and the problem of fear of nothingness in Buddhism and Irwin Yalom's worldview (articles by N.N. Kozlova, S.V. Rassadin, S.I. Sulimov, N.N. Ravochkin, V.P. Potamskaya, V.V. Bulanov, E.G. Ganutina).
