Abstract

This article deals with the problem of abandonment of children of the social category, including secondary orphanhood during the period of adaptation of a substitute family. The signs of a normative and non-normative crisis in substitute families are indicated. The question of the psychological readiness of substitute parents for social parenthood is raised. One of the reasons for the disintegration of substitute families is the mismatch of the altruistic motivation and value orientations of the substitute parents with the real relationships and behavior of the adopted child. A study on correcting the personal vulnerability of substitute parents through the technology of changing their life meanings is presented
