The article presents the results of the study of the didactic potential of German godonyms as a means of forming the socio-cultural competence of students of language specialties, a comprehensive analysis of the street names of the ancient Bavarian city of Bayreuth is carried out, didactic and methodological ways of implementing godonyms in the process of teaching German as a foreign language are proposed. The results of the study demonstrated the educational and cognitive potential of using German godonyms, confirmed the possibility of using German godonyms in the process of forming the sociocultural competence of German language learnersDownloads
