Abstract

The article analyzes the main modern trends in the development of education: lifelong learning, the development of competitive innovative educational programs, the integration of the Russian education system into the global educational space, taking into account domestic experience and traditions. The assessment of global trends affecting the quality of education and human development in the era of the knowledge economy is also given: globalization, informatization, pragmatization, individualization, involvement of stakeholders, the demand for unique skills and creative thinking rather than diplomas and certificates, online learning, availability of short-term educational programs, the choice of mobile personalized educational platforms. The functions of building innovative universities are outlined and the top 10 key skills of employees are indicated
