Abstract

The translation exercises used in the process of teaching the Russian language to Malagasy students are studied; taking into account the French language as an intermediary language, the role of translation exercises in the process of teaching the Russian language is determined and the tasks that can be solved through the use of translation exercises are highlighted. To achieve this goal, we used methods of analysis and synthesis. The main tasks of using translation exercises are the study of the lexical and grammatical structure of the Russian language system, the development of reading and translation skills, the development of Russian language skills as a means of communication and independent speech skills.
