METHODS OF STUDYING THE MORAL THINKING OF A STUDENT OF A PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The article, in the context of solving the problem of educating a moral student who is capable of conscious moral choice, argues that the teacher’s type of thinking adequate to moral education is the teacher’s moral thinking and the relevance of the formation of such thinking of a student of a pedagogical university is justified. It is emphasized that the effective formation of a student’s moral thinking requires the identification of its initial level of development. It justifies the choice of methods of teaching and pedagogical research, allowing to study the moral thinking of students - future teachers. As such methods, the method of the conceptual dictionary, questioning, ranking, observation, conversation, analysis of the content of conversations and the results of observation, mathematical and statistical methods (mean values, standard deviation, correlation and regression analysis) are considered. An example is given of using the method of the conceptual dictionary to identify what «knows» the minds of first-year students about the categories of «moral thinking», «concept of morality», «moral activity», and «attitude»
