PSYCHOLOGICAL PECULIARITIES OF THE EMOTIONAL SPHERE OF ADOLESCENTS WHO ARE PRONE TO VICTIMIZATION BEHAVIOR

The article presents the results of an empirical study of the psychological characteristics of the emotional sphere of adolescents prone to victim behavior. Victim behavior is considered as an aggressive physical or verbal provocation of the enemy, by demonstrating defenselessness or lack of ability to recognize risky, dangerous situations. Differences in psychological features of the emotional sphere in adolescents prone to victim behavior are revealed and described. It is established that: in adolescents prone to victim behavior, the formation of emotional intelligence is less pronounced than in non-victim adolescents; the level of alexithymia in adolescents prone to victim behavior is higher than the level of alexithymia in non-victim peers; adolescents prone to victim behavior, more anxious and aggressive than non-victim adolescents. Based on the results of the factor analysis it is possible to judge the existence of the relationship between the degree of severity of victimization and psychological characteristics of the emotional sphere of adolescents, as well as to prove the assumption that adolescents prone to victim behavior are characterized by a high level of anxiety, a pronounced level of alexithymia, a low level of self-regulation of their emotional States. The practical application of the results of this study in the future will create a model of psychological assistance to adolescents prone to victim behavior, implementing the correction of hyperfunction of the protective mechanisms of the psyche of the latterPublished
