METHODS OF STUDYING PATRIOTIC CONSCIOUSNESS OF YOUTH

Abstract

In the context of the problem of education of patriotism, the problem of the formation of the patriotic consciousness of youth is being actualized. Interpretations of the patriotic consciousness offered by modern domestic scientists are given. The structural components of the patriotic consciousness of youth are determined (knowledge, perceptions, and views – the worldview component; values, as conscious meanings of life – the axiological component; value relations). Justifies the selection of methods for studying the patriotic consciousness of young people. The necessity of using the method of association, the method of questioning in the study of the ideological component of the patriotic consciousness is substantiated; in the study of axiological component – the method of the survey, the methodology of «Value Orientations», the correlation and regression analysis; in the study of value relationships – the questionnaire «Personal growth» and carried out the description of these methods of educational research. It is concluded that the empirical knowledge obtained using these methods will provide an opportunity to determine the effectiveness of pedagogical activity in shaping the patriotic consciousness of young people
