Abstract

The article examines the main characteristics of the concept of «cross-language idiomatic» from the point of view of linguistics and methods of foreign languages teaching. The author emphasizes the necessity to teach students the idioms of a foreign language as a means of understanding of foreign language culture. There are examples of cross-cultural comments to international phraseological units in Russian and German
