Abstract

The issues of ensuring the re-socialization of persons serving sentences in the correctional institution are considered, the tasks of this activity are discussed in the context of the concept of social rehabilitation. Social useful contacts of the prisoner are presented as a significant social resource. The data of official statistics and empirical research are given. The role of certain types of socially useful contacts of the convicted person (education, vocational training, family ties, etc.) is determined in the re-socialization of convicts. The results of the research can be used to improve the social-pedagogical activity and the educational process in correctional institutions
