Abstract

The article reveals contradictions in the definition of the content of the concepts «person» and «personality», defines the long-term objectives of the philosophy of education in studying the pedagogical nature of man. Based on hermeneutic analysis of different approaches to the interpretation of human nature in humanitarian knowledge, the author's understanding of the relationship between the general and the individual in man and, in the interests of optimizing scientific and pedagogical research and improving the effectiveness of pedagogical practice, is based on an integrated definition of the concept of «man»
