Abstract

The article is the result of theoretical and practical studies of individual psychological characteristics of coping behavior and its impact on professional burnout among environmentalists. With the help of factor analysis three types of strategies of coping with stressful situations are identified. They are proactive, prosocial and antisocial. Using cluster analysis three groups of environmentalists are distinguished. They differ from each other with combined using of proactive, prosocial and antisocial coping, the so-called «fighters for survival», «fighters for personal success», «fighters for the common cause». Their individual psychological characteristics are determined by the author. It is analyzed the interrelation between professional burnout and the processes of coping
