The article contains the main methodological approaches of the pedagogical research of general scientific and specific scientific levels. Methodological approaches to the formation of university students' competitiveness are also substantiated in this article. The goal of the article lies in the theoretical substantiation of necessity considered psychological-pedagogical conditions of formation of competitive specialists. The hypothesis was that training of competitive specialists to be carried out effectively if the notion of competitiveness and identified his signature; the factors of competitiveness of future specialists; the identified psychological and pedagogical conditions that influence the success in the formation of competitive specialists. The result of the study was the withdrawal of private-scientific nature that the competitiveness of graduates depends on the quality of the education received, from the set of personal characteristics that ensure social and professional success of the student. It is revealed that the formation of specialist as a whole person, meeting the requirements and demands of the modern labour market is possible in educational and professional space of higher education.
