Abstract

In the article the concept of the negative identity is explored. Paradigms of negative identity of foreign and Russian scientists are described. The results and symptoms of the identity crisis in the early maturity as well as implications of the unsolved crisis are revealed. Negative identity is considered as a result of unsolved age crisis. Causes of negative identity emergence and features of its appearance are analyzed. The article introduces the description of the conducted empirical research which has allowed to reveal the differences in identity component appearances of young people with positive and negative identities. This research resulted in elaboration of the model of identity in the early maturity. The model includes the components, indicators and symptoms of positive and negative identities, as well as the list of psychodiagnostic methods. The opportunities of using the model in psychological diagnosis, prevention and correction of negative identity are shown
