Abstract

The article discusses preparing preservice teachers in higher multistage education for multicultural environment in Australia and USA. Comparative method enabled to find out that building of teachers competences follows from practice to theory in these countries, while in Russia it would be reasonable to build teacher training on integration of theoretical frameworks and practical skills which would allow to develop a teacher “researcher”, practitioner” and multicultural teacher. The novelty of the paper is the consideration of ratio between theory and practice in preservice teachers training in Australia and the US and conclusions made on quite a balanced teacher education in these countries
