The article based on the study of psychological and pedagogical literature considers the definition of "professional skills". The analysis of scientific approaches to the essence of "teaching skills" have helped to clarify and define skills and to identify its components: quality of academic performance of student the pedagogical orientation of the teacher's personality, improvement of their professional activities
