This study was conducted for search of relationships between personality and temperamental features (estimated using Adult Personality Traits Questionnaire by Manolova O., Leonhard K. and Russian version of Structure of Temperament Questionnaire (STQ) by Rusalov V. & Trofimova I. (2007)) and parameters of intonation (mean ΔF0, tone span, speech rate, duration of speech and mean duration of syllables interval). The parameters of intonation were measured on sample records of natural speech of 30 male and female participants. 60 recordings of monologues on proposed topics were obtained in 2 situations (presence and absence of conversation partner). Demostrativity (as a personality trait according to Leonhard’s typology) turned out to affect significantly mean ΔF0, tone span and speech rate in the presence of interlocutor. Social Tempo (as a component of temperament under the Rusalov’s model) influences speech rate. In the other situation (absence of interlocutor) only an interaction effect of Demonstrativity and Communication Activity on the same group of vocal parameters was found. A presence of interlocutor manifested itself as a special condition for most explicit appearing of Demonstrativity. Temperamental factors that describe Communication realm seam to moderate the appearing of Demonstrativity in different conditions. High speech rate proved to be the key feature of people with strong DemonstrativityPublished
