Abstract

The article presents the results of a study. The purpose was to determine the role of belonging to a near-sport subculture on the formation of male gender identity. The focus shifted to studying the formation of the components of gender identity: images and perceptions of masculinity. The study used the following methods: interview, questionnaire method and projection method. The findings suggest that differences in perceptions of masculinity and the construction of images of this man between the two groups of young people: football fans and football fans. Although there are certain similarities in the results obtained for both groups, the role of belonging to a near-sport subculture reflected in the clear views and vision for the realization of his own masculinity members of the subculture. These data are of interest to examine the issues of masculinity and gender psychology
