The article focuses on dydactic, methodical and psychological aspects of teaching of word stress in the German language as a component of practical phonetics course of the German language. The role and tasks of this subject in the course of practical phonetics are laid out. Methods of introducing rules and organising system of exercises to develop and master phonetic skills are described
