Abstract

This article is focused on the education of girls in Russian noble family. In the spotlight – standard appearance, ie a moral ideal, that was formed in the noble surrounding as the image of the «ideal» women. It seems to be significant to identify the main gender ascriptive characteristics that are formed during the education on the basis of this «canon» as well as the system of value attitudes of the Russian noblewoman of the late XVIII – first half of XIX century. The women's character met in the autodocumentary sources of this period indicates the formation and stability of the «Canon» and the «qualities» of the young noblewoman themselves characterize «ideal woman» from the point of view of Russian noble culture as an ideal wife and mother.
