The article is devoted to the analysis of the Smolensk Diocesan Women's College as a social institution that constructed a model of quasi-family socialization. The work was carried out within the framework of the approaches of microhistory and the history of everyday life. The empirical base consists of archival documents and materials from pre-revolutionary periodicals. All aspects of the school's life were subordinated to the logic of reproducing the patriarchal family model, which served as a key tool for shaping corporate and gender identity. It is shown that financing, the patronage system, the roles of the boss («mother»), mentors («elder sisters») and priests («fathers»), the curriculum created a closed environment of quasi-family socialization. Despite the crisis of the model at the beginning of the 20th century, the principle of «school-family» remained a fundamental feature of the school.
